When an agent is working from a README, a PRD, or internal documentation, you usually need to open another tool to read the same file. The Files sidebar keeps that documentation visible inside Paneflow, right next to the agent.

## Browse the current project [#browse-the-current-project]

Open the sidebar from the Files button to see your project's folders and files. The tree follows the active workspace automatically and updates as files change on disk.

Items hidden by [`.gitignore`](https://git-scm.com/docs/gitignore) stay visible but are dimmed, so the files you care about stand out. Paneflow also remembers which folders you left open across restarts.

## Read Markdown in a pane [#read-markdown-in-a-pane]

Click a README, a PRD, or any Markdown file to open it rendered in a pane. That way your instructions, your plan, and the agent using them all stay in the same layout.

The rest of your files are shown so you can quickly understand the project structure, without turning Paneflow into a full-blown file manager.

## Keep your documentation close to your agents [#keep-your-documentation-close-to-your-agents]

The Files sidebar ships in Paneflow 0.3.6, the same release as [agent sessions](/blog/agent-sessions). Download the latest build, open a project, and use the Files button to browse its contents.
