Paneflow 0.17.4 removes the cap of 20 open workspaces. Past the twentieth, creating a workspace did nothing at all, whether from the sidebar, the title bar, the shortcut, a folder drop, or the CLI, which read as being unable to create a workspace. You can now open as many workspaces as you need, and a session with more than 20 of them restores in full.

Upgrade notes

• Downgrading drops workspaces past the twentieth. A version up to 0.17.3 still restores only the first 20 workspaces of a session, and its next save rewrites session.json with only those. Stay on 0.17.4 or later once you run more than 20 workspaces.
• IPC clients: workspace.create and workspace.up no longer answer Workspace limit reached. At 20 workspaces or more, that error used to mask their parameter validation errors, which now come through.

Changed

• No cap on open workspaces. Every way to create a workspace works past the twentieth:
  • The sidebar New workspace button, the title bar Files > New Workspace item, the command palette New workspace entry, the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+N, Cmd+Shift+N on macOS), and Window > New Workspace on macOS. At the cap, none of them opened the folder picker, and nothing said why.
  • Dropping folders on the sidebar, which opened folders only up to the twentieth workspace and silently skipped the rest. At the cap, dropping a folder that was already open did not switch to it either.
  • Cloning a repository, which at the cap finished the clone on disk and closed the dialog without opening its workspace.
  • Opening a row from the sidebar Other sessions group with no workspace for it, which showed the toast Maximum workspace count reached (20).
  • paneflow new and paneflow up (and paneflow flow run), which exited 1 with Workspace limit reached from workspace.create (JSON-RPC -32603) and workspace.up (-32602). paneflow up also rolled back the worktrees it had just created.
• Sessions with more than 20 workspaces restore in full. Session restore no longer keeps only the first 20 workspaces, so a larger session survives a restart instead of losing its extra workspaces at the next save.

Every primary artifact carries a .sha256 sidecar and a minisign .minisig; each AppImage also ships an .AppImage.zsync for delta updates. 35 assets in total.
