Install Paneflow

Choose the Paneflow installer for Linux, macOS, or Windows, then follow the guide to install it and verify that it works.

Paneflow is available as a native app for Linux, macOS, and Windows. Choose the guide for your operating system and processor below. You do not need Rust or a build toolchain to install a release package.

Choose your platform

Install on LinuxAppImage, .deb, .rpm, or .tar.gz for x86_64 and ARM64. Choose the format for your distribution and check the Vulkan requirements.Install on macOSHomebrew or a signed and notarized .dmg for Apple Silicon. Intel Mac builds are not available.Install on WindowsNative .msi installer for Windows 10 and 11 on x86_64. The guide also covers WSL2 for Linux-based development.

After installation

Open Paneflow and follow your platform guide to check the installed version. The guide also explains how to make the paneflow command available in your terminal.

Paneflow runs the shells and CLI agents installed on your machine. Install agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode separately and follow their sign-in instructions. Then use the getting started guide to open a terminal pane and launch your first agent.

Where settings and sessions are stored

Paneflow stores its configuration, saved workspace state, managed worktrees, and helper binaries in ~/.paneflow on Linux and macOS, or %USERPROFILE%\.paneflow on Windows. Set PANEFLOW_HOME to use another directory. See the configuration guide for details.

Terminal sessions run in a separate host process. When quitting, you can keep them running and reconnect when you reopen the app, as long as the host and machine remain running.

Get help with installation

If your terminal cannot find paneflow, follow the PATH instructions in your platform guide. For launch errors, consult the troubleshooting guide. If the problem persists, report an installation issue on GitHub with your operating system, Paneflow version, and error message.
